Dr Harley V Stock, Ph.D ABPP - Managing Partner

Dr. Harley V. Stock received his doctoral degree from the University of Kansas and did his internship at the Department of Psychiatry, Rutgers Medical School. He is a licensed psychologist in Florida and Michigan. From 1977 until 1990, he was a clinical forensic psychologist at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry (Ann Arbor, Michigan) and Deputy Director of the Outpatient Evaluation Unit. His duties included examination of individuals charged with major felony crimes in the State of Michigan to determine the issue of legal insanity. His specialties were murders and sex crimes. He has examined over 800 people charged with murder.

Dr. Stock was trained in hostage negotiations at the FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia. Subsequently, he became an invited instructor there, teaching sophisticated communications during hostage takings and lecturing at the Criminal Psychological Profiling School, teaching agents how to develop psychological profiles. He was one of two hundred invited guests from around the world to attend the FBI International Symposium on Terrorism. In 1982, over twenty years ago, Dr. Stock and FBI Agent Frederick Lancley made a presentation at the American Psychological Association Conference on High Technology Terrorism. Dr. Stock presented information on Anthrax, recombinant DNA, and other threats. He has been a consultant to the United States Secret Service on threats to the President of the United States, and has taught interview and interrogation skills to new Secret Service agents at the Secret Service Training Academy. Dr. Stock was trained in forensic hypnosis at the FBI Academy, and he has been a forensic hypnosis consultant to the United States Secret Service.

He has published and presented papers widely in the area of forensic psychology, including presentations at the American Psychological Association annual meetings on such topics as high technology terrorism, criminal psychological profiling, forensic hypnosis, SWAT selection and workplace violence. He has co-authored chapters in books addressing intervention in the events of terrorism and police use of deadly force. Dr. Stock recently gave two presentations at the FBI Academy 's first Symposium on Workplace Violence. He is one of approximately 200 board-certified forensic psychologists in the United States .

Currently, he is a managing partner with the Incident Management Group (IMG). Dr. Stock's specialty is high risk threat assessment in the workplace. Dr. Stock and his group have developed a comprehensive violence prevention program using forensic psychology, linguistic analysis, protective security and deployment of innovative labor and legal strategies to resolve individual cases and executive preventive programs. IMG threat management services are routinely used by Fortune 500 companies and the U.S. government. Dr. Stock guides clients through the intricacies of case handling and presents decision makers with security and psychological assessment strategies and a range of practical management options.
