FoneTrac® is an integrated component of IMG's Global Monitoring System (GMS). GMS monitors worldwide travel using information derived from travel itineraries and displays travel locations on a world map. Travel locations are monitored for threats and situations that may present risks to travelers and the system has a built-in notification and warning features as well as access to in-country security and medical support.
FoneTrac® provides precise real-time and historical location information obtained by polling traveler smartphones. The information is derived from a combination of GPS, cell tower and WI-FI sources, dependent on location availability.
Smartphone locations are displayed on a world and/or country map within GMS. Company administrators are provided with protected access to these data. FoneTrac® users can elect whether or not to be monitored using either their phones or an online account. The system is fully compliant with privacy and data protection requirements..
